"Forward lock" and "reverse lock" may have different meanings in different situations.
In the field of mechanical devices or locks, if it is an ordinary mechanical lock for a door, the forward lock is generally locked in the normal opening direction. Its main function is to prevent the door from being pushed open at will to ensure safety and privacy. For example, at the entrance door of a home, the forward lock can prevent unauthorized people from entering the room.
The reverse lock (or reverse lock) is usually an additional insurance on the basis of the forward lock. It changes the direction or way the lock tongue pops out, making it more difficult to open the door from the outside, even if someone has a key from the outside. It is mainly used to further enhance safety when the occupants are indoors. For example, the reverse lock can be used when sleeping at night or alone at home, which can effectively prevent theft and other situations.
